i saw a hayabusa go cart with the single filters on each throttle body, would it be any benefit to have that on my bike ? what all would i have to change or modify if it is worth doing ? pics if possible, thanx
No, because under the gas tank of the Busa, the air is hot and loses it's density. If you use the four single air filters, it will not be getting the benefit of colder, denser air from outside the frame of the bike.
Also, as I understand it, the airbox serves to maintain positive pressure at all times due to the ram air tunnels from the front of the bike. The engine never starves for air, even under a sudden demad.
The go cart probably doesn't have to run at the level a bike runs so the air supply doesn't require quite so much compression. Less availability isn't such a problem on a go cart. Also, though I haven't seen what you were looking at, I'm assuming that the air filters are not buried in the middle of the furnace of the power plant!
