On page 4-55 (under the FI section) you have the Fuel Mesh Filter Inspection and Cleaning along with the Fuel Pump Reassembly and Installation

Page 4-53 shows the  Fuel Pump Removal and Fuel Pump Disassembly

well guys, i got the injectors off and took out the mesh filter from them. they had a little sediment in them but didnt look anywhere near as bad as the pump filter. i cleaned the injector filters out and reinstalled them. i heard it was ok to leave them out but im not sure and cant find anything about it in the search so back in they went

is there a step by step procedure on cleaning the filter? My bike has a hesitation around 7000 rpm..it sounds like a clogged filter..but damn 450 for a whole new assembly? I just want to clean the crap out.

there isnt a paper filter on the in tank pumps....i think they only have a steal mesh screen......on the 99-00 you have to take the pump house apart and the filter is in the housing part that the regulator is connected to. the first pic...its the half that is closet to the fuel rail.
