Seriously, I can understand the logic of insurance - a mil is a bit steep though, when some states have car insurance minimums under $30k.

Then again, the constitution doesn't say we have the right to drive cars

What specifically is the ins for? To pay for med bills and court award to somebody you may shoot?
To cover atty fees for your trial?

If so the NRA ins won't help you. Protects you during practice and competition and from injury to yourself but I don't think it applies to self defense cases?

applicant has a valid insurance policy insuring against harm or damage that may arise out of the use of a firearm covered
by the license.
(2) The insurance policy shall meet all of the
following:
(i) Be in an amount of at least $1,000,000.
(ii) Satisfy any judgment for personal injuries or
property damages arising out of negligent or willful acts
involving the use of an insured firearm.


Right that's why I said its not a million dollars worth and not specific to the PA requirements, just more so that plans are out there, I had not heard of any until now.

Well I doubt it passes especially with a million dollar minimum, wonder what that premium would be ??? but again I can see why someone would think its a good idea for someone carrying a firearm to have some sort of coverage encase injury or property damage occurs from their negligence. Lets just say your some how hit by a round from an accidental discharge, wouldn't you want the other person to have the means to take care of costs associated with your injury, just like in a car accident?

i could go on all day on this....but i think you get my point. no .....insurance is not a good thing no matter what....it is taxing your right and makeing self defense unaffordable....we are to just be VICTIMS according to the government.

The same think happened in skydiving. The local airports, mostly run by local 'cliques' of airplane pilots who don't like the drop zone traffic, started enacting and requiring the DZ to post a $1 Million Liabliity policy on the aircraft, staff, even spectators (even thought it didnt' exist), thereby using a loophole to make the Drop zone leave (couldn't get/afford the insurance, and couldn't afford to fight it vs. move). Wasn't fair because they didn't impose the same requirement on the airplane owners/airshows/events. The Parachute association created a fund to help fight these encroachments (and wins every time) but it takes about two years and several hundred thousand to fight). It's just a end run, because they can't win when they come straight at you.
