I don't know whether anyone here has heard of Jim McCanney or his background in science but he has some amazing breakthroughs in mathematics (Calculate Primes) and he designed and manufactured the best ceramic water filters ever produced.

I've been following his work since 2002, he has a free weekly science podcast 1 hour long and he speaks in laymans terms so we can all understand the concepts he's putting forth.
