I'm not a mechanical DIY guy at all, so hoping to gain some knowledge from the many engineers and mechanics on our forum.

I came across a video of metal ring, magnets and copper wire being used to power a LED light.

In the video, only part of the ring was used to generate power to light LED.

So my question is, how many parts of the ring or multiple rings would be needed to create 12 DC volts ? Also what do you think the amperage output would be for entire ring with multiple magnets and copper wire ?

I have multiple uses for a device like this.
- LED riding jacket, vest and chaps
- keep bluetooth helmet charged on long rides
- keep phone and GPS charged on long rides (without wiring a 12V socket)

Has anyone tried a make a magnetic device like this ? If so, how many amps & volts did it generate ?
