T-Rex sliders - will this still work?

So I had the T-Rex sliders on here but they were contacting the fairing. My fix was to have them turned down on a lathe. I reduced the wall thickness on the aluminum housings to about half of the stock thickness. My thinking was the the main strength is provided by the M10 bolt.

They fit perfectly now, still look like a$$ but no contact.

What do you guys think, will they still work like this?

Sliders usually take most of the impact and damage in a fall, so if they break off(not uncommon), they've usually done their job already.

And there is a nine outta ten chance it will be a no speed drive way drop where they will be the most useful.
I dropped mine at no speed on rough gravel and the only marks were on the end of the slider as opposed having to replace or repaint the fairings.
Pitch it down at highway at 40 klicks plus and all bets are off.

i like how they came out but i personally would have just notched the mount rather that turn down the mount if you are worried about its strength.

I thought about that but wasn't sure how to do it without making them look ragged. Obviously hoping I never need them. Hate the look so can't guarantee that they stay on at all.

with such a large plastic puck you can’t really see behind it and if you riding the busa the way it was intended no one would notice. paint or powder coat brackets a dark color and they blend in.

When I said I didn't care for the look, I meant the massive pucks.
