Swingarm Bearings

I recently took an arm in to be powdercoated. My guy wanted the bearings removed so I went to a local bike shop. Was quoted $120 to remove the bearings and was told another $60 plus the cost of new bearings to put back in. That sounds a WHOLE LOT high to me. Anyone had this done. Can I just get a hammer puller and do this myself?

I'd say find a different powder coater. I've had two arms done with bearings installed. They just masked off the bearings along with other areas I wanted masked...

That is a clear rip-off!!
$120 to remove them??? Takes 10 minutes with a die grinder.
$60 to fit new ones???? Takes 10 minutes in a press.
As said, find another powder coater.

Thanks fellas. Asked the coater about masking. He said he could but he didn't want to risk contaminating the air with grease and having it get on the arm which would screw up the coat. Gonna tackle the bearings myself. Don't see how some shops totally fk over those who could bring them more business in the future.
