stuck in 1st gear

anyone have any insight on this new issue im dealing with. i rode it for about 15 min,got stuck in some traffic and also stuck in 1st gear 1st gear. what should i do to fix this problem myself?

Gen 1 or 2, normally rocking it back and forth will allow the tranny to shift..

its a gen 1

If it doesn't pop out of gear while rocking it back and forth while applying upward pressure to the shift lever ... then you may have a bent shift fork.
