Shortened stock cans?

Has anyone had any success modifying the stock cans? I saw it mentioned on here on another topic and started thinking about it...

My sons bike came with a 2nd set of cans so that got me to thinking... He doesn't need anything extremely loud, drawing the attention of the law but I was thinking something more than the stock sound.

Loud enough so cars can hear him along side...

Try a search, a lot of people have done this.

Check out (member) Bigrod1300, he has the sickest set up I've seen as far as modified shorties, but I'm sure the bike overall has a big part to play in that !!!

Oh yeah, some people have taken off the cover of the can, and drilled holes in the baffle to make it loude. I'm sure you can search that too...

I have drilled the holes and to me they sound great. Saved myself some $$$ to just change the sound.
