last night while riding i went to down shift for a stop sign i thought it felt strange and when i went to take off i could tell i was not in first gear. i got it going and i only have two gears! when i got home i shut it off and i can get all the gears by rocking the bike back and forth. their is a lot of slack in the shifter when you move it up and down and the linkage arm is tight on the shaft coming out of the tranny. what do you think??

Can you post a pic? Was your linking rod loose at any point and you retightened it?
