On the positive side I ordered a set of cf covers from ebay. For the price I can afford to take the chance. I also hit the scratch with a touch up pen. Far from perfect but better.

Also learned a way to keep this from happening again... A ratchet cargo strap running under the bike between the two sections of the stand.

Frame covers came today. They're bigger than I expected and will require fairing removal.

How do you attach these? I'm guessing 3m trim tape?

What's this? Frame covers will cover it on both sides. Motor mount?

Also considering, rather than the frame covers, these Kanji decals. I know, a lot of Kanji already but I think they might work well. Waiting for them to get here from Latvia or some place like that so will be a minute...

Gripper adhesive frame covers with those hole cut-outs are available too.
I've seen black on several bikes, but maybe colors are available as well?

Not right offhand, but I'll look around and see what I can find.
It's basically precut skateboard grip tape.
I have seen less aggressive materials too, that match the tank pad grips.
I'm not very good at applying large stickers but I'd like to see them if you can find them. I looked all over and only found the plastic ones.

You could go to a decal or graphics shop and get a custom made decal cut out to match the shape of your side frame..

Could even get something made to look as though it is a protective patch much like the tank protectors...get it made in matte black and it would look like it is supposed to be there..

Just spit-balling of course...

These are what I was talking about, they stick on, vs the entire plastic stick on covers.
These used to be much more common, and available in gripper vs this cf print, but someone may still make them.

Stomp-Grip also makes large squares and rectangles in various colors, made to cut and stick wherever you want.

Those are what I was looking for. Last one so I went ahead and bought it. Just in case these don't work out.

OK, I went ahead and put these covers on. They look better than I expected.

Right side was easy since it has 2 bolt holes. I didn't use any tape on this side and it seems solid. Bolt holes were a little off but I got it on there.

Left side has only the seat bolt so I used some 3m tape. We'll see how they hold up and if they rattle.
