WD40 works well also. Any type of parts wash thats safe on plastics will work. Also the brand goo gone is pretty good.

It use WD40 as well with a rough towel and some scrubbing. The key ingredient is the solvent properties and it's a lot safer than gasoline. Let it soak a bit and scrub away. Since it is a solvent I then spray some Plexus over the area to clean and remove the WD40 after effects, if any.
