Has anyone heard that you can remap a stock computer all on its own, like a PC2 or Yosh box does?

If you have no problems with the stock bike running stock components, I can't see why anybody would want to buy a PCII. I agree with you, Eurodat. If it aint broke, don't fix it. If you're going to change anything major in the engine department though, air-box, exhaust etc, you will need a Yosh box or a PCII to remap the ECU.

Like DLS said though, RPMpower, the Yosh box is the tool you use to modify the stock ECU map. The PCII sits over the ECU control system and modifies the signals sent to the fuel injection system after the stock box has made the initial computations.

In my opinion, though this is contoversial, the PCII is better because it allows the fine tuning of the map in very small increments, the Yosh box is much more crude.

Eurodat, go to www.tl1000.com - the club is run by Gary, respected guy on a few forums. Club membership gets you 'Busa CD and free use of a yosh box - I think you pay freight on the box and a refundable security deposit.

Gary has worked hard to help the TL and Busa guys, and if you love your 'Busa the club membership may have its advantages.

RPMpower...If you are who I think you are, you might want to come by the shop and I will firsthand be able to show you the differences
on how all this could get done in the different manners. We are also discovering newer and different ways to format graphs for modified engines with different fuel requirements. I am in your town and here to help you. Freddie/ECP

just a note- I have a micron pipe and partial airbox mod and my bike runs damn near perfect without a pcII- slight bucking below 2500 rpm when very slight throttle, but no big deal...definately not a $300 "buck" right now! i already posted this (in another post) but i have now done full airbox mod, and have a pcII to play with for this weekend, and I will be at the track friday and sunday, so i will post results...also got a MCR tire, so we'll see what she does...
