Rear mudguard trimming decision...

So I'd like to trim the rear mudguard but seeing as how my bike is (relatively) rare and basically stock, I'm debating whether or not to do it.

Whataya guys think?

...or trim the replacement part and take yours off for storage....do you have the other factory parts in storage now as well?
Not really. I have the original handlebars and that's about it. I'm never going to sell the bike so I guess it doesn't really matter. I just with it wasn't all one piece that you have to trim instead of just unbolting something.
