Yesterday I posted the question about 180's versus 190's on BT-016. Some of the responses had to do with going with the 55's versus the 50's. Some of the guys liked the extra height. If you stood the two rear tires next to one another 190 X 55 versus 190 X 50 what would be your estimate of the height change? I am 5'9" and about 180 w/o gear. I haven't done any modifications on suspension yet but getting tired of the hobby horsing (sp?) on my ride over the mountain. Gotten much worse with the Givi top and side cases. So, I want to get the whole thing addressed very soon with suspension changes and tires either Dunlop Q2 or BT 016. I also have dragged my spaceship Endeavor pipes around some corners. If I go to a 55 tire will I still be able to get both feet on the ground flat at stops? Can anyone recommend a good suspension guy north of San Francisco? Ba Busa if you catch this thread...hit me up with a good suspension guy...tx, 2hip

I'm 5'8 with a 190/55 Bt 016 and also a +1" raise in th rear and I still reach...tip toes tho...

From my calculations...
190/50 - 17 = 24.48" Tall
190/55 - 17 = 25.23" Tall

Difference - 0.75" Taller

thanks guys..I don't like tippy toe stuff..I did get a Tobin seat and that lowered the seating position. Will have to think about this. 2hip

The differnce is 9.5 mm

190/50 = 190 x .5 = 95mm
190/55 = 190 x .55 = 104.5mm

The difference is 9.5mm...the 190/55 tire is overall 19mm taller than the 190/50...but it only raises the bike 9.5mm

2hip...I'll give you a call and we can discuss the tire vs. dog bone changes...+1" on the rear is the way to go.
