I have had the opportunity to ride with Don a few times and as every one who has ever met Don, knows he has touched our lives in a positive way.

I was wondering if we (the org members) would want to join together and rebuild Don's bike for his family. They may want to keep it in the family or sell it, it doesn't matter. I think if we muster up our spare parts we could do it and the family could benefit from it in one way or another.

Just some food for thought.

Thanks,
Ted

I will help any way I can. If the family would be OK with it.

nice thought but that could be touchy...

Lost a brother driving black porche...
I know if I pulled up in one my mother would have
a stroke.

I ride a Busa instead, much safer
(actually it is, the way he drove :banghead:)

Depends on the view of the family.

While the gesture is very nice, the family does need to speak up about it first.

Personally, I want my Busa to be melted down and made into my urn. It's in my Will.

Don has (had) a stable of bikes and he is the ONLY one in the fam that was left as an avid rider.
Patrick will probably not ride anytime soon (if ever) if Brit has anything to say about it - they just had another family member that suffered pretty bad injuries in a bike wreck so riding has been a bit taboo within their family.

Not saying its not a good idea, we can sure do it.
I'll ask Patrick and Sherry what they think of the idea but from where I sit, I see Don's wife going into the bike selling business pretty quick.

He had an SV650, GSXR750, a Yam cruiser, a baby ninja, perhaps a dirt bike and yes, that Blue and Silver Busa we all knew so well.

Great idea there Powers!!!

I acutally was over visiting the family yesterday. I had the same idea on my mind being as close to Don as I was. So I did get a chance about asking Sherry(Dons wife) if she would be interested in that. Of course they still are holding it for insurance purposes but she did tell me she will let me know something soon. I would really like to get my hands dirty working on that bike. Don had laid it over once in my driveway playing around one day  I had the chance to help my dad in repairing his fairing where it had a few scartches. Anyways I would definately throw in my labor and time for this one.

Was that the gravel drive way he laid it over in back in 2006?

The first time I met Don I was looking at his busa and the damage he got on his faring from dropping it in his friends drive way.

Yep that was my driveway..I felt so bad I had to fix it for him. I since have got it paved and I told Don it was only because of him I paved the driveway. He always got a little chuckle about that.
