For the last few months I've been trying out various radar detectors, laser
jammers and anti flash devices. (I write part time for a car mag)
In summary if your about to buy a detector then the Bel 990 is the best. It
gives the most warning and you can turnoff any of the wavebands that dont apply
in your country. It is also developed and optimised for the UK wavebands and is
the only device tested that found the mini gatso's. As we now have a Gatso for
almost 1 every 30 miles of road - you will be passing a great many of them. For

key in developing them and as an ex policeman is full of interesting knowledge.
The Laser jammers work but are not quite legal - the best is the lidatek le850.

The Backflash gadget does not work - you can still read much of the # plate.

mag)And finally a couple of other facts.. braking very hard when going through a
Gatso can confuse it and also it appears that doing over 156mph will also
confuse it (needed a 2 mile runway to try this) not recomended that you try it
