Here's a pic of my new radar detector setup on the bike. Has a headphone jack to work with my helmet speakers.

Uh Cobra? I still dont see any protection there. Get a decent detector. An Escort 8500 X50 would serve you better.

High enough to get a good signal but doesn't restrict my view of the instrumentation, etc.

Interestingly enough, I have the 8500 in my car, but given the negligable difference in performance when I had them mounted side by side for 1500 miles, I figured I'd put the cheaper one on the bike since it would be subject to weather, etc.

The picture makes it look a lot bigger than it really is, but yes, it's definately bigger than the 8500.

I am sure the differences in protection between the V1 and 8500 are negligible. The V1 has some advantages over the 8500 such as its upgradable.
I dont think you could go wrong with either one though.

yeah no doubt.. nothing like getting jinked with a speeding ticket and them confinscating your detector.

The Bel RX65 is also on par with those detectors. I bought one after reading all the reviews and couldn't be happier.

Right now I only have it in my truck until I make a perm install for the busa, so I'm using an older one on my busa.. it's saved me as well.
