Quick question

If I’m doing a leak down test to simply check if the head gasket is leaking into the radiator, does it still need to be TDC? I’m thinking no as it’s going to leak no matter what, but I want to see if I’m right or now.

If it's not, valves will be open.

Yes for some reason I always try to do things that involve thinking when I haven’t slept. I do it every damn time. Thanks guys. So far #4 is good to go. Doing more tomorrow. Gotta sleep.

Anywhere on the compression stroke (and into power stroke) will be sealed you will just have max pressure at TDC.
Conversely on intake or exhaust strokes you will have open valves.
