Ludicrous Speed

I am in the process of installing my swingarm bearings (the pivot) in my chrome swingarm. I failed to notice how far they were pressed into the stock arm that was sent for a core 
There is a step inside the arm, but I don't think they were pressed that far into the arm, but I ma not sure. How far do they have to go?? Into that step? It almost appears that they should be, since the spacer has to be against the bearings.
Just want to make sure before I go to far.....
