question about jetted muffler

what does jetting a muffler mean ?
i have seen a muzzy exhaust that says it has been jetted and gutted.
i was told it cost around 100 bucks to do this.

Far as I know.... Gutting is the removal of internal baffles and packing, making it loud as he!!. Jetting, is for carbs, similar to how the PowerCommander alters fuel injection maps, jetting changes the carbs fuel mixture, speed etc..

that is what i understood myself, i can not figure out how he jetted a muffler.

Actually, you can make the muffler louder by packing the muffler very tightly.

you jet your muffler the same way you change your blinker fluid

i was told this means to take the header apart and flange it out and put back together for better airflow
