Powdercoat question

On the Gen II front foot peg mounts, do I need to reduce the heat because of the rubber mounts, or will they hold up to the temp during powdercoat?

I just did mine myself and didn't have any issues. the powder i used called for 400 degrees and 20 minutes after metal temp, So 35-40 minutes total in the oven with preheating and actual cooking time.. They did stink a little when I pulled them out but no damage was done to them.

You can find powder that calls for lower temps and less cook time. I just used what I had at the time..

I did mine similar to how xchief did and had no problems. Just make sure they are cooled completely before doing anything with them.

different companies call for different temps.My stuff was cured at 400.

cant you pull the rubber mounts? temp swings like that makes rubber brittle and reduces its lifespan

I haven't pulled threm off yet, so I don't know if they come out. I know my GENI rubber didn't come out without coming apart and leaving me with nothing.

The bushings don't come out easy, You'll have to press them out and probably end up messing them up.

i pulled mine off but i havnt prepped them for coating yet so im not sure about the rubber i havnt even looked lol

where do you find the powder coat to do them yourself? Can someone inbox me the answer to that?

Powder Buy The Pound -Powder Coating Equipment and Supplies is where I got mine to do my wheels from. Also Ebay has tons of it. just have to make sure to buy from a good source so it's not reclaimed junk.
