If you can stand the embarrassment of being seen in a quilting or craft store, pick up
a quilting "seam iron". It looks somewhat like a pencil soldering iron with a small heart
shaped tip on it about 1 X .5 inches. Use it on maximum heat and run it over the rough
plastic you would like to smooth out. Using rotating motion, you will see the rough or
deeply scratched plastic quickly smooth out. If you want more melting action, slow down
the rotating motion. You can use this on your ABS fairings to smooth out deep scratches
or gouges. You probably will still need to do final sanding and prep for re-painting.
The mirrors on my Busa were all roughed up from sliding on the pavement and this
little gadget restored them almost like new.

Oh you guys and pics. :bowdown:
This mirror looked like rough sawn lumber on the top, bottom and outside edges before
I used the seam iron on it.
