pair valve block off !?!

my busas cct went, and with that scratched the head. i got a new cct and head. the mechanic (which im using for the first time) recommended i get a manual cct, which i did. now he is asking me if i want to have block offs put on my pair valve(!?!) i have no clue what he is talking about. i have akropovic slip ons.......does anyone advise this "pair block off"? or at least inform me of what he is talking about so i can make an informed decision. thanks

Search for that, there's plenty of info on it. It keeps air from being pumped through and causing a popping sound in the exhaust when you let off the gas. Not a big deal, more of a preference.

thanks for the quick reply. most of what ive read is done to bikes with full exhaust systems - not slip ons. im leaning toward just getting the block offs since the head is accessable now. just wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause me future problems

You might even experience better throttle response I know I felt a difference

I think Brock's has them, but check the site sponsors, I'm sure one of them has them.
