PAIR BLock Off Plate Install Question

I am installing the Graves Pair Block Off Plates.

My question is about the internals under the plate cover - do I leave these in place or remove them?

After pulling off the cover, there is a reed valve plate and also 2 "strainers".

I expected to remove the reed valve plate - however it appears there is a gasket (this is not removeable) molded around the reed plate that seals to the cover.

I am thinking I should keep the reed plate with the gasket installed.

Any help would be appreciated.

the reed plates act as a gasket. if you dont run them, you can have an exhaust leak at the valve cover. u less your kit came with new gaskets. remove the reeds plus screws and just use the plates. you can also remove the bracket that holds the solenoid and zip tie the connector to the harness. i wrapped the open end of connector with electrical tape to keep crud out of it. are u flashing ecu to turn it off or running a simulator?

This is off Brocks site.

Perfect - thanks for the reference. The Graves didn't come with instructions and there's nothing on their website.

ECU is being flashed now. I also pulled the O2 sensors.

Is removing the reeds from the plate really necessary?
