Ok complete idiot needs help

Well Ive done it again. I put my work shirt under my passenger seat, and now I cant get it to unlock. Any suggestions?? Thanks for the help.

You are not an idiot. You certainly are not alone with that problem, either.

Try the search tab, there are a couple of ways of disengaging the lock.

Your shirt obviously has the release lever bound up. As long as you are careful not to twist the key off, just give her a little muscle to see if it will release?

apply twisting force on/off with the key as you wiggle the seat around.
otherwise you'll have to take the riders seat off and reach under and undo the passanger seat bolts.
better hope you have small hands.

might try applying weight on seat while turning key too. If not unbolt seat and see if you can reach through and get shirt out of way.

I made that mistake on my 05, forgot to hook the cable back on and put the hump on.
I had to cut a hole under fender and reach a tool up to move the lever over!

I felt really bad. never never throw out the trash in the middle of putting the bike back together. I dont care what she says!!
