Oil changing tips

I had mine a new oil pan change hahaha over tiden the bolt damm .

Why would you take off both the left and right fairing for a oil change.

About every other time, I take them both off and just look everything over to make sure all the parts are still where they belong. Check the coolant reservoir, other bolts, etc.

Just another opportunity to verify.

I use a K&N filter with the nut welded on the end and use a straight box end wrench to loosen/tighten.  Can get it around 2x easy and way easier than trying to mess with a filter wrench and socket...

Just changed the oil today. Wrapped the pipes in aluminum foil which worked pretty good. I tried to be real careful on that oil drain plug. I went to snug, then about 1/2 a turn after that. Seemed like I could keep turning but didn't want to risk it.

BTW - This was the first oil change since the 600 mile service. After the change, I noticed a pretty dramatic improvement in sound. It really cut down on the typical engine rattle.
