In the middle of a 9 day tour and went to do some chain maintenance. Noticed one o-ring in the chain link was torn. Will call into a shop at the next town and see if they have a 530 link.. Poop..
Yeah, the o-rings just keep the lube in and the dirt out of the inner pins.
I wouldn't be concerned about it, and if it's the master link, then it's an easy fix.
My new '14 CRF250R came with a non o-ring unit. I was shocked how quickly it failed. Should have installed an o-ring on her before the first ride and saved the sprockets.
