My sister lives in NYC and has had a dance company there for many years. It is mostly female and they do ballet oriented non-traditional dance. She choreographs and dances as well as making sets and costumes, providing publicity, etc. - basically works her ass off to do this. On top of that, she usually ends up paying to put on a show as box office receipts are not enough to offset costs.
It would be great if some of the East Coast contingency would go and attend a night or two of the performance. Being in Vancouver attempting to get my daughter kindergarten-ready and find a place to live, I will most likely not get to go.
If you do go, be sure and tell her who you are after the show. Get some flowers for her from me and I'll gladly PayPal you whatever they cost.
