Its a Sig Mosquito. The .22lr model they make. There is a lot of mixed reviews about it, but mine works great. Good little plinker.

I'll try to post a picture of the Beretta over the weekend or Monday. It is the early model that used the hairsprings and looks brand new.
Back in the Seventies when I was in college, I was doing regular light work for an elderly woman. While organizing some things in her attic, I came across the Springfield and asked her where it came from. She said it must have come from her eldest brother. She didn't know it was up there and she asked me to please take it away. The stock forend was damaged in a fire. The damage is past where you actually grip the stock. I had the gun examined and other than the stock damage was told the weapon was perfectly safe to fire. It is presently out at my shooting buddy's house in Pennsylvania because it's length makes it a P-I-A to transport it out there in my small car, and I don't shoot it here in NJ. I may go to PA on Sunday to shoot. If I do I will snap pics

Wow, you are really lucky to have been given that Springfield! That thing is an antique! Have you thought about getting it restored so it's back in it's original form?

Jjsbusarox: nice collection you have there. How do you like your 1911? They interest me but I haven't gone out and gotten one. I live in NJ and the handgun process is much tighter here than in most states. My experiences with the buying process have been favorable in that my town has never stalled my handgun permits. But you don't want to buy something that you "might" like, just because of the p-i-a of selling it and then getting a permit to replace it. Each handgun requires it's own permit here in NJ, and no CC for all practical purposes.

The stock is walnut and I could probably have the missing section pieced in while hiding the seam under one of the metal barrel straps. It probably would not add to the value and as I said, the damage is beyond where you actually place your hands on it. Given the length of my history with it, and it's age I think the fire damage lends it both history and charm.

Thanks Busanova. I love my Dan Wesson 1911. It's a beautiful piece and very accurate for a 4 1/2 inch barrel. It's so dang beautiful it's my safe queen! Don't want to ding or scratch her up. That is what my not so expensive Springfield XD40 is for.

My S&W 686-SSR was made for the stock service revolver competition.
I don't compete but it was such a nice piece that I could not pass it up.
Smith triggers are great stock, but the SSR is factory massaged.
I know that all of the Dan Wesson items are well screwed together.

Too bad you are all the way across the country. We could have had some fun riding and shooting together.

Here are pistol pics, rifles later. The 44 is my favorite. It has all the Sturm and Drang of a howitzer; but the ported barrel holds it down enough that it is as manageable as a 357. Without the port it would not be any fun to shoot. If I had not had the opportunity to shoot the exact same model, I would never had bought a 44.
