Ok a little background..
2006 Busa, lowered 2" and strapped, but other than that 100% stock.

I've made 10 passes total on it, the 3 from tonite are as follows.

1st pass.. 1.96 60' (5000 rpm launch, chattered rear tire a little)
4.806 330'
7.109 1/8th @ 107.04
9.082 1000'
10.760 1/4 @ 133.76

2nd pass.. 2.038 60" (5200 rpm launch, Bogged of line, I think I came out of the clutch too quick)
4.915 330'
7.191 1/8th @ 107.68
9.159 1000'
10.848 1/4 @ 133.25

3rd pass.. 1.900 60' (5500 rpm launch, seemed to hook good)
4.754 330'
7.035 1/8th @ 107.67
9.002 1000'
10.678 1/4 @ 134.22

Is this good for basically a stock bike???

MPH still seems low to me..
Race weight was 775lbs according to the scale at the track, bike had a full tank, and I had to piss when I weighed it...

Think I need to change the gearing a little?
Would that help ET & MPH???

Help me out please..

Thanx,
Bruno

Your MPH is low (107) due to the slow launches. I dont know your weight but 2" over and strapped ya should be around a 1.6 60" and that will bring your MPH up to around 109-111.
Practice more on your launches.

Those 60ft times are killing you. If I were you I would go -1 on the front sprocket at the very least. Then just work on getting to WOT sooner and the clutch out faster.

I wouldnt suggest going with a more radical gear change until you learn the basics of clutch and throttle control during launching.
practice and more practice will give you more confidence to make your launches more aggressive resulting in lower 60' times.

Just keep practicing, when you can get your 60' down your times will drop. Try to get WOT as quickly as possible

Practice is the key. Just enjoy what are you doing and stick with it. You should be able to get into the 1.6's 60ft and that will make a drastic difference in your times. I personally think you could -1 on the front and be ok, but it will be a little more difficult to launch. I would back off your RPM on launch and try to get the clutch completely free before the 60 ft mark. Work on that and go from there.

I would launch at a lower RPM. Even when I was at 5" over on my old bike, I got the best 60' by launching at 4k, getting the throttle wide open as I was feeding it clutch. If you are not all in by the 60' mark, you are slipping it too much

-1 in the front will be a bit too much at stock wheelbase. Those stock mufflers don't help the wheelie problem (or weight) any either. You could unbolt them and slip them off at the track and notice a nice improvement. If you don't have a clutch mod and experience chatter on the launch you'll need to address that. Some bikes do, some bikes don't.

Ok thanks guys!!! I'm planning to go out week after next again.. I'll post up the next passes.. Thanks for the advice!!!

Here is a vid on my commuter bike, early this season. This bike had the stock back torque limiter still in the clutch so the only way I could leave without major chatter was to slip the clutch at higher rpms from the line. I never had that problem at all with the other Busas I have/had. This was a 1.62 60'. Every time I went quicker in the 60 the front tire came up and when it set down the back tire unloaded and spun. The track wasn't that great that day. This is not how I leave on my stretched bike.

Ok fellas, new sprocket is on(-1 Front), chain is cleaned, and the oil is changed, ready for the track tomorrow... Hopefully it'll make a diffrence in my 60'...
Gonna work on getting the throttle pinned in first sooner!
Will post results tomorrow for sure!

Wish me luck!
Bruno

you are basically having the same issue as me......my bike is at stock height and I am having a wheelie problem in most of first and second....last week my best pass was a 10.86@135......with being strapped and lowered is your bike coming up at all? I am +3 in the rear which is not helping but I just ordered a front strap and I am gonna try again....I feel if I keep the front tire down and actually go WOT in first and all of second I should drop .3-.5 seconds off my e.t

BTW mine is also an '06:thumbsup:

No it's not coming up at all.. Just not coming out very hard, my clutch control hasn't been very good. It either falls on it's face, or spins coming out of the hole...

If you dont have a clutch mod then GET ONE!!

Lower your launch rpm to 4500... run 16/42 gearing... As heavy as you are that will wake it up

Good Morning..

Well last night went ok, track was super busy so I only got two runs.

First pass was: 1.917 60' (4000 rpm launch, shift at 10500 on the tach, 32 psi in the rear tire)
4.672
6.929 @ 109.06
8.889
10.554 @ 135.73

Second pass: 1.894 60' (4000 rpm launch, shift at 11000 on the tach, and 26psi in the rear tire)
4.684
6.951 @ 109.38
8.914
10.593 @ 137.90

Bike ran great, new sprocket makes the launches easier!!!

Wierd problem arrose though.. Either the track was a little slick, or not enough burnout, or something.. Both passes I made, the bike spun pretty bad, say first 5 foot or or so...
Anybody running a Power Pure Michelin at the track??

Dropped the air pressure on the second pass, and it didn't seem to help...

Just thought i'd post results!!!

Sounds to me like you may have been out of the groove or you were more agressive on the launch!! Nice improvements though!!!!
