I did not ask to test drive, the way I look at it, if you have to test drive a busa, you probably are like this guy that crashed, you have no business on one.

Must have been a new sales guy, anyway I bet he's in deeep do-do. When I went to see my Busa on the showroom floor it didn't even have a battery in it yet and didn't move until after I signed on the dotted line.

Salesman is dumb for atleast not checkin his license,,he'll be fired and the guy that wrecked the bike is lucky to be alive and will no doubt sue and be able to buy all the bikes he wants....cant really blame him for wanting to ride one though...he's definately second guessing that decision today

Can't believe a dealership allowed a test drive of a new bike.  I've seen some allow them on used bikes, but not new ones.
I was allowed to test ride my B-King before I bought it. I rode a buddy's FJR to the dealer and had my helmet in hand, (plus my motorcycle endoresement, lol) so they copied my info and rolled it out. Two weeks later it was mine.

how i got my Bking

I showed up to the dealer, looked around, wasnt sure if i wanted the hayabusa or the zx-14,
busa was kinda small for me the zx-14 was a little more comfortable for me, asked the dealer to let me take the zx-14 for a ride. they said no problem, need a copy of drivers license and insurance AND we need to do a credit check. CREDIT CHECK REQUIRED B4 Test drive. i said ok. guys run my credit check, next thing i know the guys calling his other sales guy saying get over here NOW. i guess he liked my credit

, asked him how my credit was, he told me i could have any bike i wanted. any ways. they were geting the key, next thing i know my brother is like what is that, over to my side was the Bking, looked sweet, didnt know what it was(more of a crusier guy). I sat on the BKing, Felt really good. i said screw the zx-14 i want to test drive this. the sales man told me about the bike (its got the busa engine in it) sweet. took it for a 5 mile test drive, never got it out of 3rd gear, scared the crap out of me but i came back with a smile. told them, liked the bike, but i want to keep looking around. went home tought about test driving some yamaha cruisers, but i coulnt stop thinking about how fast the bking was. I sold my suzuki intruder on craigs list 2 weeks later, and that same saterday morning i went by suzuki and said I wanted the bking but in all black black. they told me good luck finding one of those. we will give you a 1000 off the gray one. said ok. im now owner of bking.

any ways the dealership HAS Stricked rules, NEED License AND insurance, and needs a credit check before riding anything.

Great story man. I don't think the B-Kings are selling very well here in the states, and dealers are probably more prone to drop the price a bit to move them. I just bought my black/black in Arkansas for $11,000.

Hell I don't even allow test rides on MY bikes when I'm selling them. They can ride behind me if they want to see how it rides, but thats it
winkold.gif
Too many guys taking off on bikes...crashing them...mashing gears ect, and the big hyperbikes I own are just too fast anymore for test rides. I just pull the plates off and tell the buyer its un-insured so I can't let them ride it solo...sorry
laugh.gif

You wouldn't believe how many guys just want to ride a legendary bike...and figure pretending to be a "buyer" will get them a free ride on a bike they could normally never hope to own/ride

Interesting, I suppose that salesman is related to the guy at the liquor store that sells to underage kids when they say they left their ID at home. If documentation isn't in hand ALWAYS assume they don't have it!!

As for test rides. My dealer let me test ride my 06 Busa, it was used with 2800 miles on it at the time. Having motorcycle endorsement, helmet in hand, riding gear, and pulling up on an insured sportbike had something to do with it I'm sure. I had also been offered to ride it before and turned it down as I didn't want to get the feel and want before I had the funding. I've seen them deny rides to several so they go on a case by case basis. As it was said earlier, many times you can tell who should be on a bike and who shouldn't.

Suzuki has NO test ride program. If the dealer lets you ride a bike, it is on them and they must sell the bike as used w/mileage. Yamaha has a test ride program. They reimburse dealers for depreciation losses incurred on bikes used for test rides.

If a customer totals a Yamaha sportbike or Star model on a test ride, Yamaha will reimburse the dealer in full for the cost of the vehicle as long as all the paperwork was filled out correctly and everything is legit.
