New 2015 Gixxr 1000s

I don't know where to find a Suzuki dealer any longer. Sucks, this used to be a Suzuki town.

I don't know about that. Over 70% of the bikes you see at our trackdays are GSXR's. The motors are nearly bulletproof, and the lap records on a lot of tracks in the US are still on GSXRs....I've ridden Charlie's 2012, and that bike is smooth, strong and has great brakes. While HP is a nice thing, if it can't be applied correctly, (and most importantly can't slow down), it's still the all-around experience that counts. And while I drool over the S1000RRs and 300 HP totally fascinates me, I could be doing laps on my old gixxer while they are both sitting in the pit trying to get a computer tech to come and adjust their fly-by-wire throttle cable...

Skydivr is right in that regard

If you can get your hands on an 07/08 Gsxr1000 a few grand worth of accessories along with the necessary riding skill you will be a nightmare 4 anything on the track
