No need to format! I clean these up on a daily basis. If you can get access to another computer go to download.com and get a program called ComboFix. Put it on a flash drive. Boot your sick computer in safe mode by pressing F8 when it boots up. Boot to safe mode with networking. Once it boots up run combo fix and follow the instructions. You'll be back to normal in no time!

Thanks guys... This happened to friend of mine last month , he took it to best buy and it is fixed.. he had a plan for 2 other pcs to get fixed for free.. so I took advantage of his plan and it is getting fixed for free.. it will be 4-5 days before I get it back..

just an fyi BestBuy Geeks broke the hard drive on my daughters boyfriends pc trying to repair the same thing your going thru.

Put your hard drive in another machine and do a full format. Then put it back in your machine and reinstall windows. You will lose all your files on that drive but you wont have the issue anymore. And by the way stop trying to download Jessica Alba porn, It doesnt exist.

Why take the "nuclear" option and format the drive, when you can FIX IT. Hirens has a bootable WINXP disk that includes enought AV/antimalware stuff that will fix it...

If you end up needing someone to walk you through or remote in and fix this for you let me know. I would also be glad to help you if you have to go down a path that requires data recovery. I would imagine malware bytes, spybot, and superantispyware should get this solved. I think anything you do at this point is going to require password changes (at least this is my protocol, compromised PC = new passwords all around) this goes without saying it's a step to go forward with AFTER you are 100% clean.

i am not very good on technical stuff with computer.. and yes it does take password changes.. and i try few technical support places that they can go tho your computer and monitor while you are on the phone but that would not work..
oh well... it won't cost me anything thanks to my friend.. i treat him a lunch or so..

Shouldn't the FBI super computer dept be able to track these scumbags down and arrest them? I know its not easy with all the precautions hackers take to avoid the law these days.

I inquired at Best Buy and they quoted me $200 to fix it ! I looked at the lady and said, your kidding ? The FBI impersonator wants $200 to fix it and you ( Best Buy ) wants $200 to fix it... am I missing something here ?

Then they informed me it would be another $80 to move my files and pictures. Hmmm... did they see me coming, or what ?
