Power consumption for that thing must be enormous. I bet they have to use a 'busa powered generator on full throttle to power it. It looks really useful for those times when missiles and artillery rounds are coming at you one at a time.

Seriously, it is a cool test of what may be practical technology in the future. Combine it and it's target tracking system with a missile or counter-artillery to estimate the origin of the incoming projectile to destroy the projectile, then destroy the source.
