Been here for 10yrs.
Studying English for the last 6 to learn enough to be able to take test and oath in English.
It was important to her to be able to do that as well as to me.
Yesterday at 1:15 she took the Oath and at 3:30 they were rear ended coming home from the Beer Store..:laugh:https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/rand...e-got-rear-ended-backboarded-transported.html

Here she is posing with her favorite President Washington Mutual
When we first started studying for this test I asked her who was the 1st President and she said Washington Mutual
Been an inside joke for yrs...

Now that celeb is over I gotta say....

We killed ourselves learning all things in English.
39 folks took the oath and I dont think 5 of them understood what they were saying.

"take up arms and defend the country and constitution"

Is bigtime stuff you should understand ?

I am happy for all but dissapointed we have let our standards slip to the point to where folks who cant understand or comprehend what they say are allowed to take the most
sacred oath worldwide.

Just doesnt make sense...

congrats! great accomplishment and outstanding that she learned english to do it

but man there's some folks lookin at you takin that picture .... and they dont look happy bout it  ???

Zuk I was standing facing out away from flag so not only was I being disrespectful but everyone elses relatives were doing same.
Some may have been looking at flag, some at relatives, some confused as they did not speak english or know what they were doing and why.

Again very happy for her and all...welcome
But 22yrs ago there was only 1 language you could take test in or Oath.
Now these are given in over 37 languages !

At some point no matter what language they used all had to pass a 'test' but i dont think it was anywhere near as hard as the official English version nor do I think the majority of folks in pics knew the names of the 3 ships the Pilgrims came on !
My mom-in-law did and does along with who has her money....Mr Washington Mutual...
