maybe a TRE???

so i decided to see where this switch on my bike went and it looks like it plugs into where the TRE would plug. but it doesn't look like one, maybe a older version, here are some pics if anyone could help me figure out what this is.

That's what Im thinking, ive had it switched on and off, and never could tell any difference on how it ran...down side is that the previous owner decided he wanted to mount this on the black upper fairing (between the gas tank and the side) and drilled a big hole in it, so now i gotta replace that.

Those arent expensive, like 30 bucks.

It is a Switchable TRE. I've got one in my parts box that look the same.
