Manual cam chain tensioner

I bought a 99 Busa with a manual cam chain tensioner and have no idea what the proper adjustment is. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You. lease:

Turning the motor forward, screw the adjuster in until you feel the tensioner contact the chain,then back it up 1/4 turn and lock jam nut.

Sorry for being such a dumb ass but could you elaborate on turning the motor forward?
