If I lower my bike 1" will I have to shorten the kickstand?

No, but you really need to do the kickstand mod. Even more so when lowered.

You grind a little on the stops so it opens up further.

Do a search, it has been covered many times here.

OOPS, the kickstand mod is the third thread down on this forum, it has been stickied.

It will explain everything.

i got mine down 2 inches in the front and back and the kick stand works fine......... but every since reading the mod info i am about to do it just so i can stop worrying about pulling the bike backwards with the kicstand down before i let it go or leaving the bike in gear so i wont go forward and fall over.

Why would you lower a bike that struggles in the turns already? Just curious if you are going to a track drag racing?

1. Looks cool?
2. Too short, should have bout a bike that fits?
3. Just have to do something?

I was serious when I said it looks cool. It really does, and yes Cecil, your bike corners well. Of course what do you weigh, about 130? Your bike probably sits the same height as one that has a 150 lb man on it.

You C it looks like your bout to scrap some farings. Will the stock kickstand work on a 3 inch drop in the rear? I dont want to have to pay 159 bucks for a adjustable one or will a sawed kickstand work on a stock height bike

I bought the billet kickstand just for piece of mind and plan on 2in lower in back 1 1/2 in front with a 6inch over swing. I alway intended for setting the Busa up for the straight but if you plan on doing the twisties I would keep the stock set-up. Just my measlie ol 2 cents.

Bought a billet adjustable kickstand to go with my 1" lowering front and 1-1/2" lowering rear.

I lowered mine one inch in the front using Pingel lowering spacers (Easy install) and 2 inches in the rear with dog bones. Bike stands up straight with the stock kick stand, a good wind would easily knock it over. Must do the kick stand mod or purchase a billet adjustable.

I lowered mine 1" in tne rear, and put Genmar 1 1/4" bar risers on it to take the pressure off of my wrists and forearms.
I have seen no handling ill effects from it. I always ride at least 200 miles at a time usually 3-5 hundred miles. I've been riding bikes for 30+ years.
I traded a Kawasaki Z1000 in on the Hayabusa.

ebay for the bones and the triple clamp might be the cheapest way to go. I got mine from Tracdynamics.
