A side from the look, what happens when you lower
the bike? Loss of ground clearance, travel, handling,
aero dynamics ect ??

Less wheelie prone.

I don't know how much, because although I love the look of a lowered busa, I prefer riding the twisties.

Loss of ground cearance, handling changes (depending on how much it's dropped), suspension travel limited by bottoming out (again depending), aero's actually improve.

I had mine lowered and honestly, i didnt like the handling on it. I put the back up to stock and left the front down 1". Got my handling back and then some, and dont bottom out with a fattie on the bike.

Well, I'm not a skinny guy myself at 6'2" and 240 lbs. Put a chick who's not tiny on, along with my fat a$$, and the bike bottoms on the undertail.

Todd: only the ones you toss at me. My most common passengers are the wife (about 120 lbs), my friend Lydia (at about 125 lbs) and on occasion my buddy's daughter (who probably weighs 100 lbs soaking wet)

You won't notice ill handling issues resulting from lowering your bike as long as you ride conservatively. You will find clearance over speed bumps as well as suspension travel being a problem. These issues are minor.

It's when you ride agressively that the real issues raise their ugly head. My advise would be, decide what you want form your bike and how you intend to ride it before making the decision to lower the chassy.

No issues with lowering the front .75" and leaving the rear at stock height? I'm thinking about doing it to mine since I spaced the controls up a bit.

I know for ice racing we lower our entire bikes by running the preload back up on the shock, and lowering the forks a couple inches in the triple trees, but that's for left turn only, sliding around type action. Nothing like street riding at all.

I did it two winters in the 80's. We used to put screws in our nobbys.

Mine was already lowered when I got it and at the advice of people here(and SRracing sending me some free stock links), I raised it back to stock height. As Tufbusa stated, I really cant tell any difference as far as normal riding, but the difference is HUGE when I decide to hit the twisties hard. Alot more room to lean is the biggest....when it was lowered I was dragging a knee without really trying to do so...now that its stock, I'm going quite a bit faster through the same curves and only rarely do my puck touch down.
