Lol not sure! I’m guessing it is just an enhancement to the fly by wire. This may be same as 1k but the cables go to a module on top of the engine which isn’t what I expected. Will get a pic next time the tank is up. The control is just a momentary swatch on the right side.

The same one as the fly by wire already uses I assume. The throttle cables go to a control module, then servos run the throttle blades? I would lift the tank but it isn't mine and it isn't as easy as taking a couple screws out. Gotta take the plastic cover off first.

My BMW doesn't have a special CC module - it's all done in the ECU. It uses the throttle by wire control to adjust the throttle. It looks at the speed you set, the speed you are going, and then adjusts just as if you turned the throttle yourself. The cool thing is if you turn the throttle past where the CC has the throttle, you speed up. Also, everything has a switch (brakes, clutch, gear change, etc.) so it knows when you touch something it shuts the CC off.


This is not some special BMW thing, they all do this basically.

Pingel told me they had to machine open the clevis to fit the gen3 shifter

Pulling into the trailer he killed it, the bike rolled backwards (with ignition on) and it rolled the caliper back. The caliper restraint is only for going forward. It pulled on the brake and ABS lines. Didn't look good, but it was ok.

I'd like to know also. If the wait time on the ECU edit approach is pending, I'm interested in modding a Gen III GPS. I sent Greg a message.

If you or @sjg34 or anyone else for that matter find out that the gen 3 sensor works on the gen 2 please let me/us know as I tried the cleaning thing and it did help a bit but definitely gotta replace mine.
