Leaking Coolant

After I ride and sometimes at the light I hear coolant shoot out. Once I turn it off hear air returning to the resivor and coolant comes out.

If I remove the thermostat and not replace will that hurt the engine any with the constant flow of coolant?

I hope that it's not the pump

4200 miles on it.

It will take a bit longer for the engine to warm up without a thermostat but it shouldn't hurt to remove it.
