Just got back from the Dyno Shop...

I lost 22 lbs and gained .12 and 2 mph from my best previous run. 60 ft. was actually slower at 1.62 to my best previous of 1.60, so the difference was made up down the track (and it was a hotter day). Atkins diet is a NO CARBOHYDRATES diet (or very little grams). no bread, potatoes, sodas, chocolate peanuts, or hot fudge sudays. you can eat all the meat and most veggies you want. it works- but it gets old quick. your body actually starts craving for carbs. try it. if you stick to it with no cheating, you WILL lose weight.

To GSXRBoy: Did the track hand you the same slip, twice ? Runs # 2 and 4 have all identical numbers.

Well took the bike out to the track last night and I got KICKED OUT! It's an NHRA track and to go 9's you must have a NHRA license. I ran Four consecutive 9.8's and they told me to leave and not come back till I get a license! I was all in all pretty damn happy, considering I'm 230lbs without my big heavy Technic leathers, boots, helmet, and gloves. Here's a few of my time slips, maybe someone can shed some light on what I need to do to go faster?!?!?!

4.255 330'
6.392 1/8 ET
114.24 1/8 MPH
8.255 1000'

gsxrboy: it is also lowwered about 1 inch. I send it to lee and it has his stage 4 kit in it. I am going to motown tommarow at about 2, to run it on the dyno. ( 1st dyno run other then at lee's place in NC).

c.dolan - I had the white and yellow copy of the time slip since I ran solo and accidently entered both. (Oops)

Busa1300 - Sounds good, tell Shawn I said hi and THANKS! Also tell him I got the bike into the 9.80's!

GSXR,

Get an application for an NHRA pro license. You will need a physical from your DR. for the form. Then when you go back tell them you are attempting to obtain your Pro license. They will HAVE to let you run. You start off with easy runs, then need 3 consistant 9's. Even if you don't get it, you get to run. Been there...

Your runs were very consistant. Especially runs 2 and 4!!!

Dave

Motorhead...I'll agree with you on the dyno findings you remark on. I have yet to find a stocker that makes anything even close to what is read as well as what I have heard from others..and to prove my statements, I have customers go out and run the same MPH as those that claim the big number. Like I stated a few weeks ago with a post...we all need to post the air indexes and parameters set forth for the day the bikes were tested. Think ther are some "happy" dyno's out there.

DaveO - They gave me all the paperwork last night before they kicked me out. I have to go Friday morning for my physical then out to the track to make my passes.

frank adams - About 10,500 on the tach

THE MOTORHEAD - I'm just over 230 lbs, I figure the bike should dip down into the 9.70's with a good leave. (Maye dropping 20lbs would do it also)

Johnnycheese - 1 Down in the front and my RC wheels came with a 42 in the rear. Back is in the middle position on the BDE dogbones, front is strapped.

Does anyone know how weight translates into ET? ex. (10 lbs would add or take away 1 tenth)

Well just got back from the track, I was doing my NHRA License runs out at Milan Dragway. (Michigan) The only thing I touched on the bike since Wednesday when the other times I posted were from, was I removed my Counter Balancer. I didn't notice any added vibration until about 10,000 RPM's then you can notice a slight vibration. For my License runs I had to do 1 half pass, 3 moderate, and 2 Full passes. Here are the times from my 2 Full passes:

1.587 60'
4.164 330'
6.266 1/8 ET
116.26 1/8 MPH
8.107 1000'
9.691 1/4 ET
142.81 1/4 MPH

1.575 60'
4.165 330'
6.268 1/8 ET
116.03 1/8 MPH
8.106 1000'
9.686 1/4 ET
142.92 1/4 MPH

I'm not sure if removing the Balancer is helping the bike get out of the hole faster or what! I know my 60's dropped though, could be the motor spinning up quicker. I was at the same track and it was about the same temp.

2 tenths and 2mph? My balancer is history! Somebody please describe the removal process. Thank you in advance.

The humidity and temperature were almost identical both nights. I never even touched my PCII because the conditions were the same. That's why I almost sh*t when I hot lapped my 6 License passes and on the 5th and 6th passes, which were my full passes, the bike went 9.60's! I thought he gave me the wrong slip since my fastest run to date was a 9.85! The funny thing is the bike doesn't feel any different at all. Now I'm going to have to get my crank lightened and balanced and see what she will do :-)

These bikes are just incredible! When I got my physical yesterday so I could get my NHRA license I weighed 231. Now add at least 30 lbs for my leathers, boots, helmet, and gloves. You have a stock bike with around 260 lbs on it running 9.60's! WOW!

Thanks Frank.
