It’s been months since I went to the range

My indoor range allows rifles if a handgun has the same caliber. I can take my .44 carbine to shoot along with my .44 Anaconda. It costs me $150 a year which includes unlimited shooting and targets.
locally .223 would be fine but or if I want to go bigger I need different ammo (hollow points or frangible rounds only) that and I need to sight in the new one. :firing: There is one club about 45 mins away that'll let you shoot for $40/day without membership that I need to go check out.

That's a beauty........very classic....

Do you have the M-1 carbine, tommy gun and grease gun to go with it? I think that kind of WW2 weapon collection would be cool....

Years ago I got rid of all my handguns as they were a real pain in the arse to own with all the regulations we had here..

So I went to air pistols....I can shoot them anytime I want, ammo is dirt cheap and the concept is the same. I have a 1911 CO2 BB that is fun to shoot and it breaks down exactly the same as a real one....a friend of mine gave me a CO2 .177 Colt Peacemaker and it is also a lot of fun to shoot....the pellets go into a cartridge and you load it exactly the same as a real one. It actually has a decent muzzle velocity for a pellet gun and will rip pop cans full of water apart....I have a few different pellets I use in it to experiment a little....

Thanks. No I don’t however I did find a .22 in a M1 carbine reproduction. I love the older rifles. Springfield Trap door, the 1903, German Mauser.

In a practiced draw and shoot I’ve found that clutching the center of my shirt with my weak hand has an excellent steadying effect on my aim.

Back to the title of the thread.......it's been a long, long time since I've been to the range.....I plink with my pellet guns once in a while and the concept and execution of shooting is the same.....I plan to set up a jungle lane in my yard for the pellet guns...I have a couple that are replica pellet guns so are a little more interesting to shoot....

I just can't bring myself to go to a range and shoot paper targets....that bores the heck out of me......

I haven't been out in while. Last time a guy next to me had a some kind of muzzle brake that made it crazy loud.

I wish I had 100 acres in the middle of nowhere to play. Maybe hang some steel plates at distance. That would be cool.

It is more fun to see stuff jump or spin. My buddy had a shot clock. That was fun. Adding the element of time to the equation makes things interesting.

Yeah some kind of reaction target is a lot more fun than paper. Even the ring of a steel target.

Try a police combat shoot at night with lights and siren going. More fun than should be allowed. This guy’s backyard is just what I’d like. He’s shooting my Colt too. He likes it and so do I.

We conducted very complex ranges and were treated like adults......

When I went back to the conventional forces, their ranges were very simple and we were treated like kids that didn't know anything about weapons...

That sucked and soured me for conventional paper shoot ranges ever since......that and I used a firearm in anger in combat and it's hard to top that shooting experience.....

Hi. I just can not just go out and hunt. I will not kill a deer or anything . It is different when they are shooting back at you.But I would kill people hurting others. That is why I never joind the poleice dep. There would have been to many dead very bad people. I would go back in if the US was in a war. They would would not take me as I tried to go for Desart Storm.

I’ve been to an indoor range once, wasn’t a fan because we were in a space with strangers. Call me crazy, but if you show up with your family, let us have our own area…I don’t like being around strangers with guns in a closed space.

Turns out I’m not crazy, a year later at that same range, someone decided to commit the unthinkable in front of strangers…

We mostly stick to shooting on our property, plenty of space, have a berm…

I usually stand back and remain aware that you will post these cheap shots in threads that aren't political or racist. This is the conduct that turns threads, we've all seen it, and I wish forum administrators would address this. Calling it an attempt at comedy does not justify racist images.
You seem to be a good dude overall Rojo, but this is crap and you know it.
