Hi Guys,

I just got a HID kit from XenonKing - before I dive in and put it on, I wanted to know if the HID kit intsall is legal in California or not? How many of you guys from CA have these kits installed and if you had any run-ins with the cops about them?

I would appreciate any and all info I could get here on the subject.

thanks guys

There not legal anywhere. Didnt you notice the tag displaying  for off road use only?

Anyway, I use one also that I purchased from Xenonking along with many others here and I never heard anyone having issue with the Law.

Now put the dang thing in and  post some pic's, ya

What number bulb did you get? I like the idea of 3200lm, but also like the idea of a slightly blueish tint.

The 5000k HID should do you fine. Contact Mike at Xenon King and tell'em Rhythm sent you from Hayabusa.org and you want our group discount . Mike will hook u up on the real, Playa. You wont find a better deal anywhere else on a HID kit.

Thanks you guys for the input.

I went ahead and installed the kit onto my bike this morning - it looks amazing.... Big thanks to bigdr for his awesome photographs on the HID install over at the Modifications forum

I got the 5000K kit from XenonKing - used the speacial price options for hayabusa.org.

And wierdly enough, it started to rain as soon as I finished installing it - will take an after photograph and put it up tonight.

thanks for all your help guys.

I've recently got the 5000K kit from Xenonking, and I've been pulled over once already. Both the officers thought I had my brights on and didn't dim them when they flashed me. I had to show them that what they saw were my dims and that my brights were functional. Let me go and just said, wow that thing is bright. I'm guessing I'll get pulled over again some time. I keep getting regular drivers flashing their brights at me from time to time.

well the easiest way is to remove the instrument cluster. You can see the gold colored adjustment bolt right in front of you.

1 way is to sit on it and adjust it how you like it.

a better way is to pull up to a flat wall on level ground. (as close as you can get to the wall). Sit on bike. Have someone put a horizontal piece of tape across the center of the headlight hot spot on the wall.

Now back up 25 feet and move headlight aim upto that taped line.

I moved back 70 feet on the busa with the HID unit I put in but 25 is good. Then judge it by riding. You may want to move it up some more.

5K is perfect .. the brightest cleanest white beam (when looking at it straight on .. and perfect color projected on to the road. i kept on adjusting up cause the beam could reach way farther then the stock lights .. hehehe i love following Miatas and civic's/crx. They love me too!
