Indicators as shift up light?

Hi Guys,

This is my first post, so apologies for it being a little mundane!

My 2001 Busa has what I think may be a problem. When I reach 10,000 rpm in each gear, the indicator lights on the dash glow. Is this a built in "Shift Up" light or is there a short somewhere in the bikes electrical system?

I have spoken to a couple of people over here in the UK, and their bikes don't seem to do it. There is nothing in the owners manual to suggest that the Busa has a shift up light option. I know that on my old RSV-R Aprilia you could manually adjust the shift light on the dash.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2000 and have never noticed this happening.

Which indicator lights? Oil? FI?

Something is definitely wrong somewhere along the lines. Post more details.

Came to think of it I have notice one light that does come on during shifts. As I go from first to second gear the neutral light flickers, but this is normal due to the fact that you are passing through neutral to get there. That is the only light I see come on.
