Not trying to show off, but I got an 05 Busa as a present from my dad (when i was 16!), and drove that up until last fall when a tree fell on it (R.I.P). I now have a 2010 Busa and have put 1000km on it already this season (only been a good 2 weeks here in Windsor, Ontario.)
I guess the purpose of this forum is to say,
People who say the Busa isn't the best beginner bike in the world, I agree; however, it is one hell of a fun bike and would be suitable for many new riders who have had experience on 2-wheels before (like off-road like me).
