The movie...OPEN WATER. Very cool. Very "Low-Budget". But very cool. The chick, who starred, Blanchard Ryan Very YUM. I'm not usually into low budget films, but this one grabbed me.
Based on true events... guy n' girl are on holiday, they go out scuba diving with this shiddy company...get left behind...they're in out in the ocean for hours... over night actually...

rent the dvd, watch the extra's.... very cool.

If yer into sharks, scuba, chicks, boobs, good story lines, awesome cinamatography,real-life effects...

then go rent a Jaques Coustue film('cept the boobs of course, unless you count Jaques family an' crew)

see it... It has "The Good Rubbah
Seal of Approval".

I actually paid to see it in the theather....Wish I would have saved my money.

As a SCUBA diver, it just didn't do much for me. I didn't care for some of the low budget camera work, but I guess it adds to the realism somewhat.

If it were me that got stuck out there, I would have done everything I could to stay alive just so I could shoot the bastid from the boat when I was rescued.

99% of the time, I wait till movies are on the dollar shelf.
Then you cant be as easily disapointed. Going to a theater in this town costs about ten bucks a head. So, 20 for you an' girl to get in,another 10-20 for eats,a mickey for yer pocket...

fug it,stay home.

SOME scuba divers will be disappointed I'm sure, but the extra's on the dvd show the making of the film... these poeple have ballz. Some scuba divers will applaude the effort.
There are no sound men,no stunt doubles,no hi priced gear, nothing.
The movie is shot ,edited, lighted, sound, directed ,shark wrangled, wrote, cast, yadda yadda yadda...by 3 peeple.

Husband an' wife team. The have one sometimes 2 guys for help chuming the sharks and driving the boat.

And 2 unknown actors in the water with the sharks for sometimes 10 hours a day.

I admire their spirit. hav agood 1...RSD.

No doubt about the time and work involved in making the movie. Diving will wear you out after a couple of hours...let alone 10 hours.

I didn't buy the DVD, so I haven't seen the extras. The movie was okay, but I don't know if I would spend the extra to get the DVD yet. Maybe if it goes on sale in the future.

I thought it was an absolutely horrible movie. I saw it with friends at the theater and it is the first time that at the end of a movie people actually started yelling and booing. On the way out I saw multiple people asking where to find the manager of the theater. Story line? I sat there for almost 2 hours watching some people bob in the water on what looked like a poorly shot home movie. Oh, what about those shark attack!?! The shark attacks weren't as good as the ones kids always fake at when you're at the beach.

Glad some other people liked it, but overall it was a real stinker.

If your watching it for a plot, forget it! It is pretty realistic when it comes to the shark behavior. It's just supposed to be a glimps into a very traggic story about how two people died while scuba diving in open ocean. They don't have all the facts (no survivors), so they act out what they think happened.
