For those of you that have had one for awhile, any tricks to make it load faster? Not sure if I've done something wrong or not but seems a little slow getting a youtube video to play, when it's running on an wireless N router....Just

not sure...im using a wireless N router too and it takes around 2-3 seconds for most youtube vids to load and start playing. the problem may be somewhere else (internet speed, router...).

Download one of the speedtest apps and see if you are getting atleast 4MB/s d/l transfer speeds with the iPad.

Check your wireless security settings. I had WEP running because I have an old TiVo with wireless that couldn't use anything newer than WEP (the lowest / oldest of wireless security encryption). Some research indicated that the iPad doesn't play well with WEP.

Finally I broke down and bought a new wireless adapter for the TiVo and upgraded the whole wifi to WPA security. HUGE improvement in iPad response. Much faster downloads and it works remarkably better up in our bedroom which is the farthest place from the wireless router. Overall system speeds have nearly doubled according to Speedtest.net tests (or using the Speedtest app on the iPad).

Other reports on the web indicated that turning up the screen brightness on the iPad helps, although no good reasons for this are understood.

eh not so much me as the situations. I can toss the ipod in my case and not worry about anything getting to it. With 150+ flights a year, I've had stuff spilled, dropped, crushed and generally abused by TSA and others. Also I dont have to worry about it breaking in the pelican... and its particularly nice at the beach... it floats  Generally for a few bucks more I know what I put in the case is going to survive most anything it could encounter :beerchug:
