How do you secure your pazzo levers?

Why can't you just swap out the screw for a Torx or something like this? These are for License plates but same idea. Or something like this?

Try Googling Tamper proof or Tamper resistant Metric Fasteners.

Yea I did check the Bryce site, super trick stuff. They list the price of "per item" but they do not sell just two like I would need. They come in boxes of 100 and 1000 each. And I am not interested in organizing a group buy and sending out two bolts and nuts to Busa owners across the world, besides there would have to be half as many of the "keys" also purchased that is needed to tighten the special bolts.

However I like the first granger linky and that is the input I was looking for, thanks bigoltool. I knew someone had a linky, information, experience, or something for sale that would work.

But if anyone has a line on the trunk monkey let me know.

I have a 25.00 dust cover that folds up and will fit under the hump. Take one with you and cover the bike. It wont page you or, or prevent theft if they really want it, but if its covered, they wont know for sure what is under there, nobody will sit on it because they cant with the cover on it, and it will do in a pinch. Now, if you have the jack and want something serious, get the Scorpio.

This would be way over the top but???

When I go to Indy this fall I'll just swap the stock levers back on. A lockable cover would be nice too.

PS.. A good, tight safety wire job on the nut will make it a lot more hassle to get 'em off in a hurry too.

Your a lot of help.

I am asking about securing a pair of levers and your suggestion is to go purchase a Ducati. I'd ride a Harley before I would ride a Duck, but thats just me.

Besides your suggestion would not help because there is no Ducati park at the NHRA races, the all Harley drags championships, the annual adult video awards, Vegas bike week, Laughlin river run, thunder in the mountains, any of the 100 casinos here in Vegas and many other places I ride to, so thanks for your non answer - answer.
Dude, I believe DaCol's tongue was firmly and mischievously planted in his cheek.

P.S.- I don't recall ever seeing a thread in here that mentioned theft of aftermarket levers, it may be a non-concern.

Well I got a message back from the folks at Pazzo.  They said they do not have any theft deterrent mounting hardware for their levers.  Best news is they have rarely heard of stolen levers (they have but only in rare occurances).  The shape of the pivot bolt (two diameters on the length and only the bottom half inch is threaded) that holds the levers in place will prevent a simple swap out with any of the theft deterrent bolts mentioned above in this topic.

I did go ahead and use a dremmel with a cutting wheel and flatten down the top slot.  Not completely smooth but enough that you would have to remove the bottom nut and then use vice grips or pliers from below on the threaded part to remove the bolt in order to remove the levers.  At least now someone with a dime or thin key can not just walk by my bike and snake my levers and leave me stranded somewhere.  But I may be in trouble if they have a set of pliers, screwdriver, time and privacy.

And yes the price did increase $20 for a set of levers.  $200 from Pazzo or some distributors like motomummy have them for $180 (up from $160 just a couple months ago).

If anyone gets a line on the trunk or hump monkey lemme know.  Cheers everyone

I personally think you should be worried about them stealing the bike thats holding your ultra valuable pezzo levers on. If they steal that you wont be able to use the levers.

Suggestons:

Alarm.

Take the bike but leave the leavers in a safe place at your house.

Buy a pezzo lever lock to lock them to a post. Similar to disk brake locks or coated bike chains with masterlocks.

If the bike gets stolen I have insurance for that.
If my levers get lifted my deductable is higher so I would not be able to make a claim against stolen levers. So I was just trying to reduce the chances of being stranded.

I live in sin city, just trying to be a little prepared.

Man, this makes me worry about someone stealing my GPR, two allen head screws and it's theirs...

That's more than twice the price of Pazzo's...

Maybe my pazzo's will be safe since they just may only take the stabilizer...

This is headed down the same path as the guys who put there $5000 bicycles on their Yakima Bike racks. You worry about people stealing your seat/post, wheels etc. Everything on a bicycle is a one or two bolt affair. At some point you just have to weigh how much you like the goodies VS whether you want to park your bike in a susceptible area. Personally I choose the first one and seldom leave my bike anywhere out of my line of sight or camera view (Work).

you could use bolt covers to help deter people.

This way they wont immediately see the open opportunity.

This could work for the lower bolt on the pazzos too.
